ABOUT ME

I’m a multimedia artist based in Scotland. I work with fabric and soft materials and much of my practice is informed by my difficulties engaging with other people.

I’m fascinated by one-sided relationships and my work this year has explored that topic

The relationships people have with objects - I’m a particular fan of plushies. Theyre something made to provide comfort unconditionally, but traditionally only for children. I also like to work with surveys, which are one-sided by nature. 

 

I like using my artwork to engage with other people but so much of interacting with others is understanding subtlety and knowing when its your turn to speak. 

 

I have an interest in coded messages and language, as something that can mark as part of a group or render you unintellegible to outsiders. The combination of security and isolation is really interesting to me as a concept, and I keep coming back to it.
